Blue House Needle Primer With My Needle

The wooden form for this needlebook is in the shape of a hornbook. Hornbooks were used by school children for several centuries starting in Europe in the mid 1400s. They were also used in America.

The model was stitched on 36-count Sand linen from Zweigart, Inc. using overdyed cotton threads from The Gentle Art and Crescent Colours.

Stitches used: backstitch, closed herringbone, cross, cross stitch over one linen thread, nun’s stitch, Rhodes heart, satin, and tent stitch

Stitching directions, charts, stitch diagrams, and detailed assembly instructions are provided.
