Howdy Y'all!
Well it's been a crazy month that's for certain!
Our house was in chaos for about 1/2 the month. My daughter came home for a quick visit (3 days) and left us her dog, Indiana Jones, to babysit. You saw him on FB helping in the shop one day. My son has blasted off to the University of Wyoming and took his dog with him. That was Raider and y'all saw him on FB before the shop was open. (Harry doesn't come in the shop during the day as he gets too distracted with the big front window.)
The biggest news today is the 3rd Needlework Expo. I will be participating and have put as many of the new releases on the website as my typing can process. All of the new releases are under the "NEW ITEMS" tab on the website. Everything listed there is available for preorder through the end of the the 29th when the Expo closes. After that, orders, both online and in the shop, will process as items arrive. Don’t forget, if you want something, let me know or preorder if it’s already on the website!
With the Expo in mind, all of the new stuff will be, of course, featured in the front of the shop during the first full week of September.
But wait, there’s more! We will be having Unpacking Parties from 12-3pm on Friday 9/2, Saturday 9/3, and Monday 9/4. If you would like to come and help, let me know you’re coming! If you’d like to come and shop, that’s fine too (I might put you to work though)!
Our next Sit ‘n Stitch is September 10th from 1 to 5 as usual. Feel free to bring snacks and completed projects to share!
September 25th is or first our first Stitch 10 event. We’ll stitch from 10am to 10pm. Since it’s a Sunday, the shop will be closed to the public. Lunch and dinner will be provided. The cost is $10. Sign up in the calendar section of the website!https://www.goldeneedle.com/module/class/465427/stitch-10
October 8th is our regular Sit n' Stitch for October. It's a little earlier in the month than usual, so I thought I should mention it now.

Wear a costume and receive 10% off your purchase and a chance at the Best Costume prize. Please bring a dastardly dessert or an alarming appetizer to share. Our Designer of the Month for September is Gail Reinhardt. Her designs are published under 3 names: ByGone Stitches, Ruby Slipper Needlework Designs, and Remembering ByGone Stitches. ByGone Stitches are traditional reproduction samplers and traditional sampler style originals. Gail Reinhardt began designing in the 1990's because she couldn't help it! As Gail told it, she woke up one morning with a verse in her head and decided to create a sampler around it. Inspired by Quaker pieces and the Ackworth collection but with a different twist, that is only Gail, she claimed her ground in the design industry with Quaker Christmas and Quaker Virtues. Originally born and raised in New Jersey (and did she ever give new meaning to "jersey girl"!!) Gail in her alter ego persona designed also under the Ruby Slipper Needlework Design title. Stitching since childhood she portrayed her talents through original charted designs with a wild whimsical flair. She always loved the "Wizard of Oz" and believed that the wicked witch of the west got a bad rap, and who dressed her in black? Lets add color and denim!! With a flair for fun phrases and bright borders, Gail's Ruby Slipper designs will get a laugh or a nod to truth out of you before you even make it a conscious thought! Unfortunately, Gail is no longer with us, but her legacy lives on. Notes about Gail's life and designs, reproduced from Stitching Pretty.
October's Designer of the Month will be Val's Stuff!
As always, checkout my FB Live on Saturday mornings to see "What's in the Box?"
That is it for now! I am sure I forgot something, I always do!
Cheers!
Lisa
